Each month in Sax School we answer questions from students in our Q&A Session! This month was a corker with a bunch of brilliant questions from beginner and advanced students!
Why we do Q&A Sessions
We understand that even with an amazing lesson resource like Sax School, it’s important to have help available.
Within Sax School we have thousands of students at all different levels. Although many students begin their saxophone journey with Sax School, we have hundreds of students who are already out playing regularly with bands, recording their own music and even working as music teachers themselves!
Whatever level you are at, it’s great to have that extra support and help when you’re stuck. And that is why our monthly Q&A Sessions (and LIVE monthly Masterclasses) are so important to us!
Questions we were asked in this session:
Here’s a brief overview:
Dave gets help with correct hand position.
Deano asks for a “rule of thumb” when choosing a mouthpiece.
Martyn asks why are instruments in different keys?
Craig asks for a buyers guide for choosing a saxophone.
Marc gets help with how to play grace notes properly.
Marijn asks for exercises to help learning when travelling.
Terry gets help moving between octaves on sax / hand position.
and Maggie asks for help with warbling low notes on her sax.
Nigel, Clair and Chris from the Sax School team shared tips and advice plus further resources to answer these questions, and had a laugh too!
