Song #1 Joy To The World
This classic Christmas song was written way back in 1719 – over 300 years ago! In this version I’ve brought it up to date with a fun, upbeat backing track to get you in the holiday spirit.
Song #2 Jingle Bells
This is an essential holiday song for any Christmas playlist, so we had to include it in this set of easy Christmas songs for saxophone. There have been so many great versions of Jingle Bells – and the one I’m sharing with you has a cool Latin feel.

Song #3 O Holy Night
This is another classic Christmas and Holiday standard – but I’ve given it a twist with a touch of SKA! This one will get your audience jumping around.

Song #4 The Holly and the Ivy
This popular Christmas song is based on a traditional English folk song. In the pubs in parts of England you might hear the lyrics sung to many different melodies, but we’ve stayed with the most well-known tune for our version.

Song #5 Silent Night
The traditional story of this song is that the church organ in Oberndorf, Austria had been damaged by mice. So on Christmas Eve, the young assistant priest put the words of a poem to music. The singing was accompanied on guitar, and a new Christmas song was born.
Whether or not the story is true, it’s a beautiful and well-loved song. And it’s an easy melody to learn on your saxophone.
Song #6 Go Tell It On The Mountain
There are loads of different versions of this Christmas and Gospel song. It has been recorded by Gregory Porter and there’s even an reggae version recorded by Bob Marley.
This great tune is super-simple to learn and it’s sure to get you tapping your toes and your audience singing along!
Song #7 The Twelve Days of Christmas
Do you know the gifts delivered on all 12 days? The words to the Twelve Days of Christmas song first appeared in a children’s book in 1780, and it’s been calculated that today, all the gifts added up would cost over $197,000!
This is a great song to get the whole family singing and joining in. The melody includes loads of repetition so you’ll learn this fun Christmas tune in no time.
Song #8 We Three Kings
Hands up if you used to sing a silly version of this one when you were at school?
Technically, we should be saving this Christmas song for Epiphany (January 6) when the Three Wise Men arrived to see the baby Jesus. But we reckon it sounds great anytime over the holiday period!
It’s another simple melody, so it’s a perfect addition to our easy Christmas songs for saxophone.
Song #9 Auld Lang Syne
This one is essential for every New Year’s Eve celebration. Scottish poet Robert Burns wrote the words for this song in the 1780s, but now we sing it all over the world to celebrate the new year.
