As saxophone players, one of the most important skills we can work on is the link between our ears and our fingers.
Why is this so important?
Well, it is essential for any form of improvising on sax. Basically, if you can play anything you can hear, then you are well on your way to being a brilliant improviser in any style.
But more importantly, having a “good ear” will help you to learn faster, be more observant in your own playing, and help you when it comes to playing with others.
It’s an important skill!
This week in Sax School I’ve added the first part of a new Mini-Course to help you develop these skills. I use these exercises in my practice all the time, and over my playing career they have been so important to my development. I’m sure they will help you too!
