This is one of the great recordings of saxophone legend Michael Brecker. That’s reason enough to check out this album, but here is some more info:
Artist: Claus Ogerman with Michael Brecker
Released: Warner Bros – 1982
Claus Ogerman – Composer / Conductor
Michael Brecker – Tenor Sax

Why it’s important:
Michael Brecker played on literally hundreds of great recordings and inspired a whole generation of players. Although this album was recorded 4 years before Michael Brecker did his first solo project, it is often considered to be some of his best playing.
NIGEL HITCHCOCK: My Classic Album
Not just from the point of view of saxophone playing, but music in general, harmony, everything – this album changed my life and also led me then to go on to become a composer.
Klaus Ogerman became the other hand of Michael Brecker on this album. Those two guys together – I wanted all of that! I wanted to play like that, and write like that. And if I want inspiration, this album is where I go.
