Concentrate on your timing. Using a metronome or playing along to a backing track is a great way to start to get to grips with a tune. It can seem really complicated and be frustrating at first, but if you start learning a tune while concentrating on counting and timing, you’re half way there! If you have already started learning a piece of music, coming back and visiting it again with a metronome will really help you understand the music.
